Ghent Library De Krook is more than just a collection of bookshelves. De Krook has various inspiring spaces, including an “experience staircase” for small-scale events and concerts, a large lecture hall, various workshop rooms, a maker’s lab, an immersive space and a digilab. The library programmes more than 1,000 activities per year, including those held in conjunction with the Vormingplus training centre. All rooms are also available for hire.

Every day, visitors find their way to the Krook café for a snack or a drink. Make yourself comfortable in a cosy chair inside, or sit on the terrace overlooking the Scheldt. Soon you’ll be able to picnic on the lowered quays, but remember to keep an eye on the Belgian weather.

Ghent, city of three towers. The third floor of De Krook is the place to be to admire the quintessential Ghent skyline. No need to buy yet another postcard, just snap one of your own. But if you do fancy some authentic De Krook gadgets (bags, pens, notebooks, etc.), don’t hesitate to buy them at the desk in the entrance hall.
